15,000+ Fish Cakes, One Caring Community

Since 2006/2007, the Rehoboth Community Trust has received regular donations of fresh fish from Overberg Fishing Company. Our volunteers process the fish into hundreds of homemade fish cakes ("viskoekies"), ready to share with those who need them most. On Tuesday 9 and Wednesday 10 June 2026, the Trust distributed over 15,000 fish cakes across Rehoboth — reaching 9 local primary schools (including Acacia, St. Joseph's, Northside, and JTL Beukes Primary), 2 old age homes, soup kitchens, and children's homes. Almost two decades of partnership, turned into thousands of warm meals for the people who need it most.
